Stocks Ended Mostly Higher, Dow Posted Second Straight Day of Gains

U.S. stocks ended mostly higher on Wednesday, with the Dow posting second straight day of gains, after Washington announced a final deal on a $2 trillion stimulus package designed to combat effects of the coronavirus. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 495.64 points, or 2.39%, to 21,200.55. The S&P 500 rose 28.23 points, or 1.15%, to 2,475.56. The Nasdaq Composite was down 33.56 points, or 0.45%, to 7,384.29.
Oil futures ended higher Wednesday, as optimism surrounding the $2 trillion U.S. econonic stimulus package eventually helped to calm some worries about growing supply amid a price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia. West Texas Intermediate crude for May tacked on 48 cents, or 2%, to settle at $24.49 a barrel. May Brent crude rose 24 cents, or 0.9%, at $27.39 a barrel.
