Company Description

Brookdale Senior Living Inc., founded in 2005 and based in Brentwood, Tennessee, specializes in the ownership, operation, and management of senior residential communities across the United States. Its services are structured into three distinct divisions. The Independent Living division oversees properties that integrate both independent and assisted living units within a single community, primarily serving middle to upper-income seniors. The Assisted Living and Memory Care segment provides residential solutions through both multi-story and single-story properties, offering housing alongside 24-hour assistance with daily activities for residents. This segment also includes specialized memory care facilities for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Lastly, the Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) segment features properties that offer a comprehensive range of living options, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing, designed to accommodate varying levels of physical ability and healthcare requirements. In addition to its proprietary portfolio, Brookdale also manages senior living communities on behalf of external clients. As of December 31, 2021, the company's extensive network included 347 owned communities, 299 leased facilities, and 33 communities managed for other organizations.
