Its operations are structured into two primary divisions: Commercial Banking and Consumer Banking. The Commercial Banking segment caters primarily to small and middle-market enterprises, offering an array of lending, leasing, and deposit products. This includes various loan types such as revolving credit facilities, term loans, secured and unsecured financing, asset-backed loans, commercial real estate funding, and cash flow-based credit. Complementary services encompass cash management, access to capital markets, and strategic advisory. This segment further extends asset management, factoring, receivable management, and specialized financing for supply chains, equipment (for small/middle markets), and the rail industry. The Consumer Banking segment focuses on individual clients, providing a suite of deposit accounts like checking, savings, money market, and individual retirement accounts, alongside time deposits and certificates of deposit. It also originates residential mortgage loans and Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, in addition to offering payment solutions and fiduciary services. Beyond these core offerings, CIT Group also provides general leasing and advisory support, along with robust online banking capabilities. The company, founded in 1908, operates a network of roughly 60 branches situated throughout southern California.
