Company Description

Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, and established in 1903, DTE Energy Company (ticker: DTP) operates as a diversified energy company primarily focused on utility services. Its Electric segment is responsible for generating, procuring, distributing, and selling electricity to approximately 2.3 million residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout southeastern Michigan. Electricity is generated from a varied portfolio of sources, including fossil fuels, hydroelectric pumped storage, nuclear facilities, wind farms, and other renewable assets. The infrastructure supporting this segment includes roughly 698 distribution substations and 449,800 line transformers. DTE Energy's Gas segment manages the acquisition, storage, transmission, distribution, and sale of natural gas to about 1.3 million residential, commercial, and industrial consumers across Michigan. Furthermore, it markets natural gas storage and transportation capacity. The segment's robust network features approximately 20,000 miles of distribution mains, 1,304,000 service pipelines, and 1,305,000 active meters, alongside around 2,000 miles of transmission pipelines. The Power and Industrial Projects segment delivers a range of specialized services to industrial clients. These offerings include metallurgical coke, as well as pulverized coal and petroleum coke, supplied to industries like steel, pulp, and paper. It also provides industrial customers with power, steam, chilled water production, wastewater treatment, and compressed air. Finally, the Energy Trading segment actively participates in the marketing and trading of power, natural gas, and environmental commodities. This segment also handles structured transactions and optimizes the company's contracted natural gas pipeline transportation and storage positions.
