This includes video display processor products, which feature image processor ICs equipped with embedded microprocessors, digital signal processing (DSP) technology, and proprietary software, all designed to manage internal operations and signal processing for sophisticated display systems. Pixelworks also develops video co-processor ICs, components that collaborate with image processors to perform post-processing on video signals, thereby boosting the overall performance or expanding the capabilities of a video solution. Additionally, the company produces transcoder ICs, which incorporate embedded microprocessors, DSP technology, and software to oversee the operations and signal processing necessary for converting video bitrates, resolutions, and various codecs. By March 31, 2022, Pixelworks had amassed an intellectual property portfolio comprising 334 patents, all centered on the visual representation of digital image data. Its products are distributed globally through a combination of its own direct sales team, independent distributors, and manufacturers' representatives, serving markets in Japan, China, Taiwan, the United States, Europe, and Korea. Established in 1997, Pixelworks, Inc. maintains its headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
