From the relationship between price and moving averages; we can see that: This stock is BEARISH in short-term; and NEUTRAL in mid-long term.

Mining Giants Embrace Renewables but Decarbonization Remains a Steep Climb
Rio Tinto's announcement last week that it will build its first in-house solar plant to power mine operations adds to a slew of recent renewable energy pledges from mining companies. But while solar and wind have an obvious role to play in helping miners control their carbon emissions, the mining industry faces steep decarbonization challenges, analysts say. Rio Tinto, the Anglo-Australian mining giant, says it will invest $98 million in a 34-megawatt PV array and 12 megawatt-hour lithium-ion battery system to help power its Koodaideri mine in Pilbara, Australia. The solar plant is expected to cover all of the mine’s electric power needs during peak solar generation hours, and 65 percent of its overall electricity consumption. Rio Tinto will start building the plant soon and is looking to complete it next year. “We are investigating additional renewable energy options in the Pilbara, as well as other opportunities to reduce emissions across our entire global portfolio,” said Rio Tinto Iron Ore chief executive Chris Salisbury in a statement.

Rio Tinto appoints three female non-executive directors
Hinda Gharbi, an executive vice-president at oil fields services group Schlumberger, and Jennifer Nason, a global chairman at JP Morgan Chase, will take up their roles on March 1.
