Company Description

Spirit Airlines, Inc. operates as a commercial air carrier, providing flight services to 85 destinations across 16 countries, including locations throughout the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. As of December 31, 2021, its fleet consisted of 173 single-aisle Airbus aircraft. The airline distributes tickets through direct channels like its call centers, airport counters, and its website, spirit.com, as well as via numerous third-party platforms, including online travel agencies, traditional travel agents, and electronic global distribution systems. Established in 1964, the company was initially known as Clippert Trucking Company before officially changing its name to Spirit Airlines, Inc. in 1992. Its corporate headquarters are located in Miramar, Florida.
