The fund can invest without restriction in municipal instruments that may be subject to the federal Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT). Up to one-fifth of its assets may be allocated to other debt and fixed-income securities. The fund limits its exposure to municipal instruments rated below investment grade to a maximum of 10% of its total assets. The portfolio manager implements a top-down investment approach, prioritizing analysis of interest rates and credit quality. Securities are chosen based on a dynamically adjusted interest rate sensitivity target, which adapts to expected shifts in interest rates.
