Sterling Bancorp serves as the holding company for Sterling National Bank, delivering a broad array of financial services and products to corporate, individual, and municipal customers across the United States. The institution accepts a variety of deposit accounts, including both interest-bearing and non-interest-bearing checking, savings, money market, time, and demand deposits, alongside certificates of deposit. Its extensive lending portfolio features commercial and industrial financing, asset-backed loans, payroll finance, warehouse lending, factored receivables, equipment financing, public sector finance, and commercial real estate loans (including multi-family properties). Furthermore, Sterling provides residential and commercial mortgage loans, as well as diverse consumer credit options such as homeowner loans, home equity lines of credit (HELOCs), financing for new and used automobiles, and unsecured personal loans. Loans for acquisition, development, and construction projects are also part of its offerings. Beyond traditional banking, Sterling Bancorp collaborates with third-party providers to facilitate the sale of mutual funds and annuities, while also directly furnishing annuity and wealth management solutions. As of December 31, 2020, the company managed 76 full-service branches, serving both retail and commercial clients primarily within the New York Metropolitan and New York Suburban regions. Established in 1888, Sterling Bancorp maintains its principal office in Pearl River, New York.
